This legislation appears to be doing exactly what some businesses are already doing – exploring portable benefits for the entire independent workforce. Although we may bot support direct government spending on items the private sector is already servicing or providing, but if this helps open the door for further legislation aimed at supporting and protecting the rights and needs of independent workers, we support it. We do not believe there will be any further legislative activity on this bill.
