Flexible Coverage Amounts
Optional Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage is issued by The Prudential Insurance Company of America. Members who are under the age of 60 may choose up to $500,000 of coverage to help protect your loved ones from the financial drain of accidental injuries. You can choose from two coverage plan options— Member Only or Member & Family coverage.
If you choose to enroll for Member & Family coverage, the spouse benefit is 60% of the elected member benefit amount as long as no dependent children are covered. However, if dependent children are being covered, the spouse benefit amount is 50% of the member elected benefit amount.
Each dependent child receives the same percentage amount, depending on whether a spouse is also being covered within the policy. The dependent child(ren) benefit amount is 15% of member's coverage if a spouse is included. If there is no spouse, each dependent child will receive 20% of the member's coverage regardless of the number of children a member has.
Premiums are based on the plan you choose. Premiums are paid monthly or quarterly, depending on your choice at the time of enrollment.
